This site provides information about the activities of the Ninfield Local History Group. It also presents some of the historical records held by the group and provides accounts of historical events, businesses and people who lived in Ninfield and the surrounding area.

Our Resource Centre
Come and see our archives, ask questions or contribute your photographs and stories to the history group! We are open quarterly on the last Monday of the month in January, April, July and October between 10 and 12. You can find us in the Sparke Pavilion, Church Lane.
The next Resource Centre morning will be on Monday 26 October 2026.

Ninfield Local History Group
The NLHG was formed in April 2012 to inform and document the history of the village. Our aims are to assist with research for our members and help with inquiries from the public about life in Ninfield from the past to the present, and for future generations to use; but also to enable people to have fun with their history.
Mountfield and the Egertons
The Egertons have lived at Mountfield Court since 1865 and you can view a pictorial history of Mountfield in two books by Trish Jones together with a book that tells the remarkable story of Mabelle Egerton (Brassey)’s Coffee shop. If you want to know more please read see the piece under Ramblings.
